Education & Experience
- Bachelor?s degree required; advanced degree preferred (Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, high-impact, cross-functional programs within a large-scale manufacturing or CPG facility.
- Deep experience with Lean, TPM, continuous improvement, and operational excellence frameworks.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse teams.
- Strong project and portfolio management capability; able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Highly skilled in problem-solving, risk mitigation, systems thinking, and change management.

Summary
The Senior Director of Operational Strategy & Execution serves as the strategic driver and onsite leader for the organization?s highest-priority initiatives, programs, and cross-functional projects. Acting as an extension of senior operations leadership, this role ensures operational alignment, disciplined execution, clear accountability, and timely delivery across all major workstreams that impact performance, capability, and scalability.
This leader is a core member of the site leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping the long-range operational roadmap, elevating executional rigor, and enabling the site to consistently meet business objectives in safety, quality, service, cost, and people development.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Alignment
- Partner with senior operations leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable, prioritized initiatives and execution plans.
- Drive operational discipline by establishing clear timelines, milestones, success metrics, and governance frameworks for major programs.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment and proactive communication across Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance/Utilities, EHS, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, and R&D.
Program & Project Governance
- Serve as the primary onsite sponsor and leader for high-priority initiatives, including capacity expansion, performance optimization, cost-reduction programs, new capabilities, digital transformation, and workforce strategies.
- Build and oversee project management structures that track progress, anticipate risks, and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Remove obstacles, escalate issues as needed, and ensure initiative owners have the tools, data, and support required for success.
Operational Excellence
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, using data-driven decision-making to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and systemic gaps.
- Embed best-practice methodologies (Lean, TPM, Six Sigma) to elevate execution and sustain long-term improvements.
- Strengthen cross-functional coordination and performance by aligning work systems, standardizing workflows, and ensuring accountability.
Leadership & Organizational Influence
- Influence and coach leaders across the site to build executional rigor, enhance organizational capability, and improve cross-functional collaboration.
- Act as a thought partner to senior leadership on site strategy, organizational design, talent development, and long-term capability building.
- Provide clear communication to senior leadership on initiative status, resource needs, risks, and recommendations.
