Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Packaging Operator II based in Nampa, ID.

Requirements

The Packaging Operator II Whey role is responsible for operating and monitoring whey packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate packaging of finished product. This role supports daily packaging operations by following standard operating procedures, maintaining quality standards, and responding to routine packaging issues.


Operators in this position work independently on assigned packaging lines and play a critical role in maintaining production flow and product integrity.


  

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Operate assigned whey packaging equipment, including bagging, conveyance, and palletizing systems

Perform packaging line start-ups, shutdowns, and routine operational checks

Monitor packaging processes to ensure product weight, labeling, and packaging quality meet specifications

Identify and troubleshoot routine packaging or mechanical issues; escalate concerns as appropriate

Complete required production, quality, and food safety documentation accurately and timely

Follow all Food Safety Management System, GMP, and safety requirements

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized packaging area

Support changeovers, minor adjustments, and continuous improvement efforts

Participate in department meetings and required trainings

Other duties as assigned based on operational needs

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:


Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred


Experience

Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment preferred

Experience operating industrial processing or packaging equipment is a plus


Specialized Knowledge

Understanding of basic packaging operations, quality checks, and safety practices

Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions


Skills / Abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a production setting 


Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted, repeatedly

Ability to climb stairs and ladders as required by the process

Ability to work in warm processing areas, cool rooms, and around operating equipment

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
